Dark red, violet in color, with fresh berry aromas of blueberry and blackberry, together
with notes of mint and finally coffee from the well integrated oak.
With great complexity in the mouth, this wine is elegant despite abundant tannins.
Fleshy, with notes of tobacco and a long finish.

  • Vineyards Cabernet Franc: 100% from Maule Valley.
    Merlot: 100% from Cachapoal Valley
    Age 10 years Cabernet Franc and 8 years Merlot
    Climate and Soil Maule Valley (35º 18’09’’ S), 171 m above sea level. Mild climate with a six month
    dry season. Annual rainfall 730 mm. concentrated between April and September.
    Located on south-west facing piedmont soil with Deep clay loam and good drainage.
    Handling Elimination of shoots during spring, removal of interior leaves after set and selections
    of the best grape clusters during veraison and before harvest.
    HARVEST
    Harvest date Mid April for Cabernet Franc
    Mid March for Merlot
    Harvest Brix 24°Brix Cabernet Franc
    26°Brix Merlot
    Growing season Cold and rainy spring with irregular flowering. Summer was hot and dry until the full
    maturity of the grapes. Soft rains during the month of harvest, but these did not adversely
    affect the grapes.
    WINEMAKING
    The grapes were hand picked and were not crushed on reception at the winery; the
    clusters were only de-stemmed.
    The whole berries had four to five days of cold maceration prior to fermentation
    and two to twelve days of maceration at 25ºC after fermentation.
    Native and selected yeasts were used during the fermentation, which took place in
    small tanks from 10,000 to 40,000 Lts.
    Spontaneous malolactic fermentation took place in tanks.
    Aging: 14 Months
    48 % new French/Amarican oak
    52 % second year oak
    Bottling: Unfined and unfiltered
    Bottled begin of September 2005
