Combining two different terroirs in Elqui, with the Carmenere coming from Arenal vineyards, close to Vicuña, at 900 meters above the sea level, with an incredible dry weather that permits to harvest in mid June. The Syrah comes from Titon vineyards, only 25 kilometers from the sea shore in the same valley, a cool weather vineyard. Both vineyards, having the advantage of being in the valley with most clear skies in the world. The outstanding luminosity permits a very gentil growth and ripening of the grapes.
Chono Geowines Ensamblaje Carmenére Syrah Reserva
The soils have an alluvial origin and are in the border of the Elqui river. Its natural fertility is very low, as well as the organic matter content of them. The yields are only 9 tons per hectare and the fruit shows a very high concentration.
The components, 65% of Carmenere gives a very elegant softness with ripe tannins and big volume. The Syrah ads and incredible freshness to this wine.
This is a very limited production of just 10.000 litres. 30% of this wine was aged for 6 months in new French and American barrels.
