Chono Geowines Syrah Reserva
The soils have an alluvial origin and are in the border of the Elqui river. Its natural fertility is very low, as well as the organic matter content of them. The yields are only 9 tons per hectare and the fruit shows a very high concentration.
It was handpicked according the ripe levels. Maceration was handled very careful, to avoid over extraction. 10% of the wine was racked in new French and American oak barrels for 6 months.
Intensive colour and a spicy nose with berries, black fruit and hints of tar. The structure is very well balanced with the softness of the tannins. Its intensive fruitiness is very well married with the oak.
Winemaking was in hands of Alvaro Espinoza and Juan Carlos Faundez.
